The LNR is the body responsible for professional rugby in France. Its competitions are the Top 14 and Pro D2.

Bru was sent off for dangerous play in the Top 14 match between Toulouse and Biarritz in Biarritz, a match which Toulouse won 21-16.

With about 15 minutes to go Bru punched Serge Betsen, leaving the Biarritz flank groggy. Referee Jean-Christophe Gastou sent Bru off for this. At the time Biarritz were leading 16-15.

Bru will appear before the LNR disciplinary committee on 4 January.
 
Flyhalf François Trinh Duc of Montpellier was sent off in a fourth-round European Challenge match for a dangerous tackle on Conor O’Loughlin of Connacht. The referee was Rob Debney of England. The match was played at Stade Sabathe in Montpellier and won 35-22 by the home side.

Trinh Duc was suspended for two weeks. The LNR confirmed the decision and that the suspension applied to the Top 14. The match was played on 15 December 2006, and Trinh Duc will be able to play again on 30 December.
